you may want to think about having a addaptor made to fit in the breach to fire 37mm or 40mm blank rounds.

Another option is to preserve the old Brass cases for posterity and to machine a steel billet blank case that won't distort or require resizing, and will continue to extract cleanly no matter the powder charge.
Some pals in NZ have done just that, and use a .38 super case with Small Rifle primers pushed into a press fit hole in the case. The steel case is very thick walled in comparison to brass cases and will withstand being thrown onto any sort of surface. Reloading is a matter of pushing out the .38 case with a steel rod, and pushing in a new one. Top off the case with 3/4 to 1lb of black powder, press in some 1/8" MDF wads and Bob's your deaf uncle. |
