I beleive you will find that the leather examples are British, and the other type are Cadandian manufacture.

The leather ones normally have prominent British parts numbers and date of manufacture stamped on. Quite if the Canadians ever adopted the British pattern I will leave to other to answer.

I would have thought that the Canadian examples would still have the clips on the back to hang on to the stowage strip in the back of MK11*.

They were in theroy supplied as part of the CES when the vehicles left the factory.
