I cleaned up the brass one and have since let it dull up. I like the look.

Hanno, I too have a very rusty stamped steel one. There must have been a change in production at some point. I’m thinking to save on brass for other needs.

I didn't even knew they came in brass. Makes sense they quickly switched over from brass to stamped steel when war production was in full swing. I can even imagine at some point in time a military procurement bean counter thought even stamped steel was too expensive.

Jordan, did you just have nature do its thing, dulling it up? I have some brass data plates that I tried to clean up, and repaint the embossed lettering, but I don't like the shiny result after cleaning....

I always understood Cab 11 and 12's came with brass badges, and Cab 13's with steel ones.......but I presume the change from brass to steel didn't coincide perfectly with the cab switch.
I have a brass one for my Cab 11, and also have the remains of a steel one.......and a resin copy/repro from LWD.

May be available from other repro distributor for varying prices....... was a basic engine hood side panel trim......
