No more winter white just in time for spring..... What paint are you using? The colour looks really nice.

Looks great Peter. Can't wait to see it in the flesh.

Default Membership rewards

Guys,

I am trying to make this restoration as accurate as possible, and it has only been possible thanks to MLU members such as yourselves who have provided information and access to parts.
I was very fortunate to have significant hidden portions of the Lynx that retained original paint samples. I used an enamel Olive Drab Flat that only needed a minor amount of ‘tweaking’.

Default Nice touches

Guys,

The small pieces can and are just as rewarding as the larger components. A nice example are the two Ford emblems, one on the front storage bin and the second on the radiator armour.

Isn't it amazing how the little details such as these make a big difference?

Default Thanks

Dave,

The Lynx wouldn't be what it is without the engine that Doug Lavoie found for me and the great rebuild that you did. This journey has been so satisfying and the caliber of people that I have met along the way so good, that I hope it lasts for years to come.

Default New period pictures

Guys,

Receiving new to me, period pictures of Lynxes, in service, is akin to Christmas.
The pictures are of RCD Lynxes in NW Europe when the RCD was the Corps reconnaissance regiment. The first picture shows that the RCD did place their front unit and formation signs on the front storage bin rather than the glacis plate. Makes life easier for me since I much prefer this position. Also the fact that the vehicle number was not always placed inside the D squadron identifier.
The second picture shows that the RCD also mounted 0.30 Brownings on their Lynxes. To date, I've only found photographs of the 12th Manitoba Dragoons with 0.30 Brownings on their Lynxes. I see they have now relegated their Bren gun to the rifle rack above the 19 set and freed up more floor space.

Peter
