Apparently the contract date for these rare carriers was April 1, 1944.
Kevin and all, as another MLU'er told me, You fell for this hook line and aluminium sinker. :P Actually the fuel tank has been correctly identified. It's from a Willys of France generator. It's a pretty close copy of the UC fuel tank except for being 2/3rds the size. It was still April Fools Day in Canada when I posted this earlier today.
