When I was a pup our family doctor had one of the old sloped back Guardsvans and my father did the maintenance for him for years.
Eventually it was towed to our place because there was obviously something wrong and dad dropped the sump to take a look. Laying in the sump were some serious sized chunks of metal. I think a piston had broken up. I have an idea they were a wet sleeve engine. David
