Default NOS Tires have a role

Hi All

That role may best be as display tires for stationary equipment, which is still an important use so I hope everyone will keep their eyes out for finds such as Lex posted. If they turn out to be recent production that is fantastic. If they are NOS and 50 years old great finishing for display purpose.

Mike is pointing out something that any of us who worked with old tires realize just because it looks new proceed with caution. When I first got my HUP it still was wearing some of its original tires but it was very clear that driving on them was not in the cards. Then by chance found set of NOS truck tires looked perfect, but once mounted and inflated to 35 psi and a few miles, 50 to 100, cracks started appearing in the side walls.

Cheers Phil
