Default US DOD shuts down sales of trucks

I see that Government Liquidations has a note on their web site saying that DOD has asked them to stop selling trucks.

By what is missing from the website it seems to be all the heavy stuff.

Looks like anyone who has one is lucky.

Bet you they will be gas axed apart and go for scrap like our Canadian trucks do.

And here it states that ther fire departments will get an exemption so that may be the only route to acquire one in another 25 years when they are finished with them?

Well, according to this article the Defence Logistics Agency will retain title of the ex service smog trucks so that the EPA exemption can be retained.

That is funny, one government department outsmarting another!

Default Gl

from what I noticed on GL was that as soon as things went south in Iraq all the tactical trucks went off the sale, then the Navy Dept. put 2 real oddball 900 series truck up for bid and they stayed on, also CUCV's still keep coming up for bid , these engines are also non emission, so for my money I think the trucks were pulled so they could go as aid to Iraq, remember that 2 Iraqi divisions did the cut and run, lots of talk on Steel Soldiers on this topic,
