Cyma WWW Watch
In the unlikely event that we have any watch repairers on this forum, I am looking for a Cyma model 234 Balance Staff (Ronda 2300) to repair my late war watch.

Alex, thanks, I'd forgotten about that.
Neil, why don't you drop Greg a line; his profile is here: Greg Anderson

I have just e-mailed him.
Thanks for the information. I understand that Cyma parts are in particularly short supply, but it would be nice to get this old watch running again. I am informed that other than the Balance Staff the watch is in perfect condition. |

I got my watch back today from the repairer today after a guy in South Africa sent me a new 'Staff' free of charge.
During the repair '30 AUOT 1945' was found stenciled on the back of the face. Does anyone know what AUOT stands for? Presumably a watch repair facility somewhere. |

Inscription
30 Aout 1945 = 30 August 1945
With the inscription being in French, I don't know whether that's a comment on a who owned the watch or who may have repaired it. (I'm better on rusty trucks than watches.) |

The stamp is either from the original manufacturer or during a repair.
As I assume the Swiss speak German, the watch is perhaps of earlier manufacture than I thought. The first WWW Watches were introduced in 1944. |

The Swiss have three distinct linguistic districts..German,French and Italian.. So the inscription could still have been done in Switzerland.
