Default T-34 / 76 CzTZ version 1943

Can anyone tell me if the T-34 / 76 CzTZ version 1943 with two circular turret hatches flush with the turret top (as produced in 1/35 scale by Tamiya) is a T-34 / 76E or '76F. I have seen conflicting info on the web that suggests it is either.

Also one site says that only 100 of these vehicles were produced! Surely the USSR would have made more than this even for an interim model prior to the T-34/ 85.

ARe there any good links out there on the web for Soviet armour of WW2?

Hi Larry!
1) these designations are long forgotten and were applied rather randomly when the Germans discovered each new variation on the T-34.
2) this model was created when mating a stamped turret to a normal model 43 hull, and I think I remember around 1k or 2k were made along the more usual cast turrets.
3) russian battlefield is the usual answer ( http://www.battlefield.ru/index.php?lang=en )

Default T-34

Thanks Claude,

I have seen http://www.battlefield.ru/index.php?lang=en ) and read the history of the T-34 on there but I do not think it covers every version - so I will look for a book instead!

Default CZ

The CZ also had the short barreled 76.2mm gun-model
1939-L 11 gun which was mated with a rolled/welded
turrent. The next version had the cast turrent and the
model 40/F34 long barrel 76.2 mm main gun..
Your kit as well as the one I have seems to be a hybrid
with the cast turrent and the 1939-L11 main gun.
It's not very accurate....

Well ,there is the new 'T-34 Mythical weapon' by Air Connection but rather expensive.
The 'old faithful' is still available I think, the Squadron Signal Armor about the T-34 by S. Zaloga and J. Gransen.
There are other books but not always in English and/or hard to find-expensive
