Default Abandoned Sherman track drill near Vancouver, BC

As most MLU members know, some logging equipment manufacturers on the west coast of North America built using M4 and M32 undercarriages. A second use was as the chassis for heavy construction rock drills. Finning is one brand, that shortened the chassis to two suspension stations per side. The useful compressor and equipment is all mounted on the top.

Well, someone stole one on a trailer in January. It fell off the trailer during the getaway, which has not been recovered. The owner had not insured the drill because it is old, decrepit, only used off-road, and not worth the premiums. The rock drill is still sitting on the side of the highway waiting for someone to take charge. Locals are having fun posting the RCMP detachment's phone number on a For Sale sign, and erecting a fake historical site plaque.

(( If I can figure out who will recover it, maybe they'll sell me 50-lbs of M4 traceable steel .....? ))

Hard top see from this angle.....but I wonder if it could be an M4 High Speed Tractor chassis in stead of a Sherman chassis (?)

I think I'll contact the on-line journalists. Maybe he'll send some better photos to raise a little attention - its on the internet, you know?

From what little I can see, and from the colour, I wonder if this isn't a Morgan Power Morpar M32 drill?
