request dimensions Mk II parts
Hi
I have been asked by a Museum to seek out dimensions for Ford Mk II: -fuel tanks, -instrument panel, and -battery box. They have a vehicle and are looking to cost certain parts and manufacturing in their request for funds to do a full restoration. This is part of the manufacturing cost projection. I'm not very knowledgeable about carriers but figured this would be the place to ask. Any help appreciated. regards Darrell |

roughly 5k CAD
Minimum budget to source and supply complete functional MK-II* fuel tanks with all assemblies, mounting brackets, felts pads, retaining straps, all fasteners, including the eight armoured bolts for exterior sidewall, one braided line from pickup to remote selector switch ... complete from a bare hull floor to remote selector switch . . . not less than $3k CAD.
A complete functional MK-II* dash with all instruments working, correct fuse assemblies, suppressed wiring, name plates, armoured bolts for front armour? Budget not less than $1,5k CAD. Battery tray complete not more than $300.00. |

Wow. I'm thinking this is why restoring WW2 vehicles is not for the feint of heart or young of generation.

I look forward to seeing other replies.
When our time is not factored into the search, acquisition and restoration to serviceable condition of NOS or used parts, a perception of cost saving is expected. Contracting to have complete new fuel tank assemblies produced requires deep pockets. Perhaps an understanding of what is involved is a learning curve? I do not know one single source anywhere in the world who would make the entire fuel tank assembly on a commercial basis. If you accept that I include the eight support brackets, twelve felts, four retaining strap sections and tensioning assembly, gauge and condenser, pickup tube with strainer, drain cock, vented cap with collar, and braided hose. Lining the tank, painting the parts and tank exterior, all with a level of workmanship that is acceptable. |

There was a few years back a link for a fellow who drew out the armor on CAD for the mk2 carrier that was posted here also, does any one have a like to it or am I just missing it.
