WW2 veteran
I visited the old chap down the end of my road last Saturday.. a WW2 veteran..in the German army .
He was in the artillery and I spent about 2 hours with him. Wish i had a tape recorder with me . He did his drivers test in a 4X4 opel blitz ..... he really knew his vehicles too . He said the KRUPP had a very noisy boxer air cooled motor . He ended up a POW , was captured in Italy . he was conscripted in Oct. 1941... and somehow avoided going to the Russian front , he asked to be sent to Nth Africa . He drives around in a TOYOTA landcruiser tray .. amazing Too much to say MIKE
