LAND ROVER 24V FFR Lightweight 88"

Hello
I am in the process of aquiring one of the above. Having never owned an FFR vehicle I wondered about the charger Generator does it run all the time or is it/ can be disconnected. I am un likeley to ever fit radio equipment so I was wondering if this is/can be by passed as I assume the vehicle has an Alternator to charge vehicle batteries?
I have tried to contact the Light weight owners club with out success as My Email address is not accepted. Any one PM me with a land address so once I get vehicle bought I can register and pay any subs
