Default C60S parts

I would like to find a really solid one too. Good thing we are located far enough apart that we probabply won't be competing for the same frame.

i take it the difference between the C60s and the C60L chassis is length ? if so would you guys consider a C60 L then shorten it ?

I know of one in good condition as all

cheers

Richie

It may come down to shortening a C60L and I know where to find one too but I would rather find an original C60S frame in decent shape preferably in Eastern Canada to keep shipping costs down. Since the frames aren't a constant section it would come down to taking the excess length out of the middle (ideally removing the crossmember that was unique to the C60L and the adjacent piece of frame and keeping the rest) and welding the two ends back together. It is also complicated by the fact that the frame is 2 layers thick. The nicest result would come from separating the side rails, reinforcements, brackets and crossmembers into individual bits, cutting and welding the frame rails and reinforcements then riveting it all back together. It can certainly be done and the MB-C2 has the procedure for cutting and welding listed but it would be nice to find a frame without the rest of the truck that can then be swapped in. I know the odds of this are small but I keep hoping.

There's a chassis in northern Saskatchewan but shipping would be around $1000 I'd guess.

Good to know they exist, but for now the cost is too high for my taste.
