Carrier Plates

I am little confused by these two carrier plates because mine manufactured in March 1944 has a latter hull and serial number than the other example manufactured in December 1944.

Am I missing something here?

The Universal Carrier and Windsor Carrier are obviously different series of Serial Numbers. Although UC No 25252 and WC No 1904 were both built in 1944, not all Ford vehicles had total cumulative serials, just a serial number within that model.

The plate is on a friends Universal Mk11* so I assumed it to be correct without reading it too closely.

Someone must have robbed the original a long time ago.

One is a universal the other is a windsor
