Default F15A Frame Cross Member distance

Hi All,

Could someone please, please, please, measure the width of their last unbent cross member between the frame, so I can fabricate a new one, to replace my Banana. Courtesy of a previous unloved life.

Could you please measure from the end of the cross member section to the other end (ie, its entire length.) See pictures.

Please note: It's a Ford Chassis/frame.

Delay just holds me up a little more from making Corowa....

Thanks in Advance

Ian

Ian,

Did you ever got the measurements you needed? I know it was posted many years ago, but I noted this thread when measuring up some frame details for another MLU member.

Default F15A Crossmember dimension

Hi Ian and Hanno,

Here they are anyway just in case:

Taken from a good F15-A cross member I salvaged.

A: Centre of rivet holes between frame rails 31-1/2" (camera angle a bit deceptive in photo).
In case you wonder about the photo, I took the measurements from the right edge of each hole which still equals centre to centre distance.

B: Overall length of rear cross member 32-5/8"

Therefore distance from edge of cross member to center of rivet hole equals: (B-A)/2 = 9/16"

Note: actual holes were offset less than 1/16" to the left side but that is probably just manufacturing tolerances.

Hope this is of some help.

Cheers,
