differential/rear axel

Boy, I have nothing but questions.

I just picked up a 1949 3 ton ford truck. I bought it for the engine/tranny and rad. I know it is not correct but it is complete and was running last fall.

In going over it after we pulled the motor and tranny I noticed it has a split differential rear end like the carrier. Any chance it can be used for spare parts or a swap out if required?
