I was looking on the IWM site and noticed reference to BRITISH MILITARY VEHICLES 1918-1939 so I searched the phrase and came up with some interesting stuff. This Austin Seven 2 seater 4x2 has to be the cutest military vehicle I've seen.

Then there's several halftracks. First is the Morris Commercial-Roadless Half-Track Experimental Tractor. Then there's the Crossley-Kegresse, 15 cwt, Half-Track, Artillery Battery Staff Car and the Citroen-Kegresse, 15 cwt, Half-Track, Artillery Battery Staff Car.

Next are some quad artillery tractors. First the Guy Quad-Ant, 4 x 4, Artillery Tractor then the Morris Commercial Quad, 4 x 4, (experimental) Artillery Tractor.
The next one is an oldie, the Pavesi P4-100, 4 x 4, Artillery Tractor tested by the British Army. Here shown towing an 18 pounder field gun and limber.

Here's an interesting series on the Scammell Pioneer, 6 x 4, Artillery Tractor.
Second pic is Loading a Medium Tank (A6E1) on to a Scammell Pioneer tank transporter and the last two are Scammell Pioneer Tank Transporter carrying a Medium Tank (A6E1). The trailer looks kind of shaky for carrying a tank.

That Austin 7 may be the ancestor of the Jeep, in a way. IIRC, the Bantam Car company was founded to produce a U.S.-licensed Austin 7. Bantam made the first "jeep" design, and may have even used the Austin engines in the prototypes. Without checking the books, am I more ore less right about that?
