1941 WC3 or WC13
OK, I am listing this for a friend, we really don't know if it is a WC3 or WC13. It has all the original gauges, but they are different from others that we have seen, we have been told that it might have been a Canadian vehicle, but there is no proof of this. Vehicle is in St. Louis, Mo. After additional emails and research it is a WC3. The tailgate is not original and needs to be replaced if someone wants it 100%, prices for tailgate and correct parts are $350.
http://s141.photobucket.com/user/lss...%20WC13?sort=3 1941 WC-3 US Army Truck. This was originally from California and was rust free, all body parts appear to be the originals, and none have filler. The body was straight and rust free to start with which is very rare. This started as a customers restoration, but our shop bought it after he stopped half way through the project. We have finished it but there's some work that needs to be done, see at the end. The truck has been painted on OD olive green, the proper military OD flat paint in enamel was used. The body was in good shape before paint, but was not completely sanded down. The object was to finish the truck for sale, not a 100% restoration. Next, the truck has all NEW military tread tires and inner tubes on combat rims. All new bearings on the axles, all new brake lines, and brake cylinders, new master brake cylinder, brakes work fine. The engine was rebuilt several years before we got it, but we rebuilt the Generator, Carburator, and starter, it has a new oil pump, new spark plugs, wires, cap and rotor, distributor rebuilt. This engine runs great! starts fast, and idles smooth, runs up smooth and steady, engine temp runs about 180 at idle. Radiator was completely rebuilt as well, all new hoses and clamps. Transmission was in great shape to start with, but was cleaned and new fluid added with new gaskets. Has the correct hood, with new "Dodge" name plates on sides, and inner proper rods. Engine cowl has the cloth strip on each end, and new hood hinge brackets front and rear. Has a brand new gas tank and lines to the rebuilt fuel pump, new gas sender unit in tank, tank is not the original but a new replacement. Interior: All new canvas seats, top and bottoms, seat frame are out of a later model WC truck. NEW rubber ribbed floor mat, new gas pedal and shifter boot and new shift knob. Dashboard has new data plates, and brand new steering wheel and horn pad kit, the horn is in the engine compartment, but is not wired to the horn button yet. Has all gauges, these are the ones that came with the truck and only the Oil pressure is hooked up, the others may need to be rebuilt. Speedo works fine. This truck has the optional heater, it is hooked up and works, but the fan is not wired yet. Misc: The windshield is cracked in the corner, it should be replaced. New windshield seals. Fame for the windshield is rebuilt, and properly pivots to fold down the windshield. New mirror and arm. New rearview mirror. Bed of the truck has replaced wood, but not the original style, nice and solid. Canvas covers for the new chains on the tailgate. Has Jerry can and mount on side with new canvas strap. Both front and rear diffs have new oil in them, the rear diff does lightly whine at speeds, may need the spacing adjusted between the ring and pinion or other work inside. The original customer spent over $7000 for new parts, plus more on rebuilding different items on the truck as well. Many parts including the wheels were sand blasted before paint, only the main body was not blasted. Truck runs and drives great, and is very solid, keep in mind its the original body. Any rust found as light surface from paint chips and was removed before painting, the paint job is clean, but the body was not stripped all the way to bare metal. To finish it will require only some light work, horn button wired, AMP meter, and water temp gauges repaired or rebuilt, the taillights are installed but NOT wired yet. Headlights work fine. Its missing the front blackout lights, easy to replace. The wiring harness was new made years back, and is not an exact reproduction, but has cloth wires in it. Summary: The truck was restored to a clean running condition, with many new and rebuilt parts, its not perfect meaning its not a 100% top to bottom restoration, but close, much closer then others out there today. Its nice, clean, runs great, solid, prefect for reenacting or parades, but needs some finishing work. Its ready to drive out! PRICE: $12,500.00 PM or email me for info and I will get you in touch with the seller.
