You will be glad to know it is still going and in use, although i am having some brake servo issues with it at the moment, the brakes sometimes like to stay locked on, turning it into a 5 ton roadblock! Most of the other issues with its engine have been resolved and it now runs reliably. Heres a picture of it earlier this year at a show near Aberdeen:-

Check master cylinder push rod is not to LONG, not letting the fluid return to the reservoir once brake pedal is released, Dont know exact free play but it seems to happen on Land rover systems and CMP trucks alike.
Has the brake pedal lever got a pull off spring to return it to rest quickly, try stronger spring if it is a bit weak. Also has the master cylinder cap got a breather? ![]() |

There was quite a few widget bits missing from the cable shielding, fortunately i have a good few spares from a 1 ton truck, which went into it. I have now narrowed the brake problem down, it is the brake servo, its not backing off and seems to stick in place, if the vacuum pipe which provides the assistance is removed, the brakes never lock up, but then you barely have any braking at all! I now have a couple of servos and some seals so i can rebuild a good one ready for the next season. Malcolm, did the pig only ever have one fuel tank, just there is no hole on the passenger side for a fuel filler, long since replaced with a new piece of chequer plate? Forgot to ask, what happened to the Albion CX22, i remember seeing it advertised years ago up here, it looked quite original.

Waltz, how did the Cummins diesel conversion work out in the end, was there any problems fitting it and getting the gearbox to connect to the transfer/diff, and does the gearstick come through in about the same place as the original, any clearance issues etc?
Whats the mileage like now its on diesel? Sorry about all the questions, but i have just got to know!! ![]()
