Thats not just another jeep, its a Willys MA. One of the rarest prototypes. The clue is the WILLYS infront of the radiator/between the head lights.

From memory, there were only 1500 (+/- depending on who you ask i think!) made.

A few have been foundin australia in unrestored condition, i dont know how they got here as the americans say there were never any sent- maybe they got left behind/bought in from the islands. There also a few which i understand have been imported- one out of hawaii, and a few bought in from the states.

didn't notice the script on the front. I've seen one of the Ford GP's at corowa last year, although i'm not sure I define 1500 as rare. But opinion will always differ in that respect.

with the amount of jeeps made 1500 is a very small number so therefore could be concidered rare. It also may be that not many of the 1500 survived as well.

True, true, but for example only 30 ambulances of the likes of the one I have were made (Series 2 Land Rover Ambulance)

However more people want a rare jeep than a rare land rover, it's more about desirability

Nice photo of the Mudlark a page back. You can see the similarities between it and the Humber 1 ton fV1600, more so than the Champ and Humber. The large bulbous mudgaurds on the front of the Mudlark caused a lot of light reflection, not a good idea when trying to hide, so they were changed to the extra flat and narrower style of the Champ. Note also the quaint touch on the back gaurds, Spats!.Must have been a bugger to put chains on.

That's a nice find, Mark! And even more interesting if the truck has somehow survived, although I don't recall seeing it there.
