Default Very wet weekend......

Well we did the most of it......

Last recovery trip for Clive's jeep we noticed that some fo the spot welds on the fendaers had worked loose and things were a shakin'

Late last Sunday Grant and I remove one frmder and concluded it would be better to replace them...... off they went.

Got new fenders from Princess and found some 1/8 satin coat leftover sheets at the back of the barn.

So we spent all day Saturday and a good part of Sunday designing and fabricating fenders that will be stronger and removeable if we need to get a large load on board... like a C60 with flat front tires..... which is probably what stretched the fenders in the first place.

Lots of cutting, fitting, welding but we got it done.. the plasma cutter realy shined at work like this......

We encountered some probles starting the spark on the mig welder particualrly at low heat..... turn out one of the main cable inside the welder was very loose..... need to check things once in a while after 3 years of used.... once thightened worked like a charm.

Pictures attached show the bare frame....... fenders will be removed and the whole trailer sand blasted and repainted a shiny OD such as 24087. at a later date.... with all new wiring.

Thanks to Grant and Rob for providing the quality control tests to see if the fenders could handle dead weight or occasionally being walked on when loading..

They stood up the test....

They are now hanging in the barn..... having been degreased and phosphated in preparation to 2 coats of POR 15..... a special primer binding coat and 2 coats of shiny OD......might even had some tac signs.....
