I really hope not.

I live fifty-some miles from Dover Air Force Base in Delaware. Dover is the point of return for our overseas casualties. I am ashamed to say that I have no idea when these men return because our local newspaper does not tell us. I like that "respect" condition or mode, but I doubt we do it on our bases.

Somewhat related, the American TV series, "Masterpiece" will run the British production, "My Boy Jack," about Rudyard Kipling and his son John who was killed on the Western Front and whose body was never found. I am currently reading the book on which the story is based, and I highly recommend it on several levels.
