Hi Gilles,

Years ago the late Peter Ford from Saskatoon collected CMP serial number information and created the CMP INFOEX. Nothing has happened with it since his death in 2000 or 2001. From the Dec 1989 issue of INFOEX:

Make: Chev
Model: C15A
Date: Sept 29,1943
Serial # 3844422564
Engine # WR3918724
Contract 134-186-38
Cab 13
Body GS-2

I am sure this information would have come from the serial number data plate. The only other info there is the owner was J. Cote, in Canada.

So I would think that your serial number is correct except that the first "2" in "38442422564" is there in error and should be removed.
