Hello Murray
Excellent research material, especially with the location. I had all these recorded from an old database by Ian Hall but with sparse detail. Now I can fill in some holes. Carrier 6 I believe is #1990 as this was recorded by Ian. There is no record of #1965. Thank you - Bob

Funny, too, how the Nat Pk people have reacted. We have a large Munitions depot near here that has been disposing of time-expired ordnance for the best part of 60 years. The State Forest behind it has also been extensively used for Mil Ex's for probably just as long. It is still quite possible to find all kind or spent ordnance all through the place, but there are no restrictions throughout the SF at all. It's off limits to the Bush Firefighters during a fire, though, as the firefront sweeps through and it sounds like a Chinese New Year. A couple of years ago, a dump of 25pdr shells and 20mm AA were found that had been buried in a trench, but a nearby creek had eroded it's banks and moved, exposing them. Don't think I'd like to be near that in a fire!

The murricuns were especially good at the latter with regards brand new aircraft sitting parked on Pacific islands - I've seen pictures. ![]()

Having spoken with one of the then Reserve soldiers (Harvey from the Artillery Society for those in Perth) who took the carriers from Perth to the park, it seems all the engines/gearboxes were removed along with the tracks and they were flat towed the 60 or so kilometers behind Diamond T wreckers.

I agree with Jack. The workmanship is very good on this vehicle and alot of time and effort has gone into 'getting it right' given the vehicle they started with. With the crew dressed in period uniforms, it wasn't too difficult to imagine you were back in 1939.
