They were a failure, partly because there was too much weight on the front axle.
Just looking at Mike Cecil's book there were four built for evaluation. In order to bring the weight to an acceptable level the armour would have had to have been reduced to such an extent it would have been vulnerable to small arms fire. Peter Bros in Redfern also did conversions to electric cranes - they were to have made 75 each but the project was abandoned after only 10 were made by the end of the war. Many of the chassis were sold and converted to the loader configuration post-war, and some were converted to a street sweeper configuration.
