Default UK WW2 Picture Can you indentify vehicle?

I looking for any information that could help trace the history of a relative, George Bambrough from Newcastle upon Tyne, UK.
He is the soldier on the left of the picture. We believe the picture was taken during WW2 but we have no details his regiment or location. We also don't have any information on the soldier in the peaked cap.
After seraching the net we think the vehicle is a Canadian Military Pattern truck. Stecilled on the front are JESSIE and WOOLWICH. Can anyone help with identifying the truck, dates, locations or any other information?
Any help would be much appreciated,
Paul Allen, Northern Ireland
