Hopes,
Ian, The manufacturer you refured to earlier as Hopes, Is Charles Hope, a brisbane based refrigerator manufacturer that made 200 NO3 trailers during the war. Serial No. CH1 to CH200.
I know of three of them here in Brisbane.

BTW I am not real happy with the quality of Charles Hope fridges at the moment , my 1950 beer fridge tripped my safety switch the other day and I have not had a chance to look at it yet. So they don't even last 57 years, what a piece of junk!

My mother owns a 1940's Charles Hope fridge and it still is going like a trooper, it had a paint job 10 years ago and I fitted a new start relay about the same time.

Unfortunatilly Charles Hope probably went out of business because there fridges lasted too long. Sad isn't it!

Ian if you want to start a register let me know I would love to help.
Jeff
