The "Data Plate" with the Serial Number, Engine Number and build date should be on the top or the side of the instrument cluster, or if it's a full Canadian Import, on the inner side of the Driver's door. The Serial number will not necessarily appear anywhere else on the vehicle, although it's possible that the Engine number has been stamped into the chassis rails, often the right side under the cab. Actual location varies in practice (IF it was actually applied!), so have a good look around.
