After a few years (I think 5) I am finialy finished my scratchbuilt Otter LRC. I wanted to put it on a simple scenic base to better protect it. I tried to go for a costal area road inland from the beach. I was aiming for somewhere just inland from Juno Beach as that is where my great uncle landed on June 6th. The vehicle is marked for the 18th Field Coy, RCE
The cobble stone road is a resin copy of a Verlinden one. The sandy area was made with 2part plumbers putty. This was textured with an old toothbrush. Small stones and static grass were added. The long grass is by Woodland Scenics. The fence post is from Tamiya with a bit of re-texturing. The mine sign came from a Hudson and Allan decal set. I applied the decal to a thick piece of foil. The barb wire is from Verlinden. The road and dirt colour was all handpainted. I did some washes with oil paint and then added some Mig pigments. The two figures are from Ultracast. The standing up guy is unmodified. The sitting guy had his head replaced with one from Nemrod. I painted them with a mix of Tamiya, Humbrol and Model master paints. The div patches are ones I made myself out of clear decal film painted and cut to colour and size. The Engineer flashes were painted by hand. I used a piece of wire to sqiggle on the blue "text". Any comments are much appreciated. Jordan Baker ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
