Shortly after this march we received the horrifying news, which was like a dagger through the heart for any kilt loving Highlander. All WW1 uniforms will be exchanged for the new battle dress. Needless to say, several chaps could not handle this news and went AOL several days. Of course the powers to be of the regiment didn't buy this and they were delt with accordingly. I guess I didn'y buy their story either. I was quite happy to endorse the new battle dress as I found the possibility of some meandering hands seeking to answer that ancient question, regarding the proper undergarment dress for a good Scotsman.
May I repeat that age old story I know you have heard many many times.
A young Highlander while attending a dinner by the womans auxillary of the regiment was approached by a middle aged member, she coyly inquired what is worn under the kilt? The young soldier with great indignation said, listen lady, nothing is worn under my kilt, everything is working just fine.
