Default Day Job

Evening 'all

Something a little different to illustrate the day job. Not quite right era for this forum but I thought following image might be of interest!

Recently declassified, I am allowed to show this image but not allowed to say who the end users are!

Great bit of kit; I thoroughly enjoyed testing the vehicle last year. As is often the case, the official performance figures are too conservative; suffice to say that it can embarrass many race or rally cars and blowaway just about any road car!

Talking shopping

Hello, looks great, without all the guns could be a very nice shoppingvehicle, no parkingproblems anymore.

Green (yellow) Greetings

.

..........& with the guns, would deffo find one a GOOD parking space.

Using the 40mm Grenade Launcher would also get you to the front doors quite quickly as well.

This is all that it would be good for ...or paintball...
It would be useless in any combat or military application involving shooting...any Canadian prairie kid with a .22 caliber single shot Cooey could take out the personel on board at 100 yards...
It's French..you say??
And fast...you say..???
And how many reverse gears does it have..???

The antenna mount looks extremely vulnerable. One low flying branch & it would be history.

Those new vehicles look more and more like coming straight from the film set of Mad Max

Yes, and with that armament it could also blowaway any truck also.

Keeping to "softskin" definition of forum; here is another declassified project which I was involved in a few years ago (MoD even permitted me to use image on my company website). We were not trying to roll the truck but, with full load of ammo boxes, did manage to get all the inside wheels off the ground; a pity the photographer did not capture that image!

I will try and dig out some images of new British Army MAN (due to member request); I test drove the 8x8 last week at Millbrook.

I have already stated my thoughts about the Dutch tanks and I feel the same way about unarmoured Recce vehicles.

Go to http://www.militaryphotos.net
Go to Forums
Go to Strictly Photos
Search for "Oddball Vehicles in Iraq".

There, you will find a lot of examples of upgraded soft skin vehicles that were cobbled up because of the radically changed nature of anti insurgent activities we see nowadays.

The site does not like hotlinking photo content threads so that is why I ask that you do it this way so you can browse without upsetting the "management".

Edit: They do not seem to offer a search option unless you register. You have to go to posts of the last year and go to page 103 to find the thread. My apologies. Great site by the way.
Bill
