Default Tragedy at Tracadie

Mike,

All that pounding made for great blueberry crops in latter years. Ironic that the Minstry of Transport (Doug Young Minister and MP for that neck of the woods at the time) was pressured by some of the locals to close down the ranges to air to ground firing. This being done, we could no longer entice folks from Bagotville, USMC, USAF and the ANG to come play against us (birdgunners). In the end, 434 Squadron left Chatham for Shearwater and the Air Defence left Chatham just prior to its closure.

So, now the Tracadie locals have less noise to put up with, and more blueberries to munch, while Chatham/Newcastle (now Miramichi City) lost millions per year out of the local economy.

More Liberal logic...
