The issue of the seat may be explained as follows, I think you are looking at the horse hair padded seat back. I have seen this type of pad on late 12 and some 13 cabs. the cris cross pattern is light gauge webbing sewn into the light coloured Hessian cover to give rigidity during use and to prevent the filling from slumping to the bottom.
