Today in the December issue of JUST CARS magazine at the Newsagent I spotted a 1941 M-H Ford 4X4 No.3A gun tractor for sale .

Unrestored but in running condition . Fitted with a hard top cab , missing original rear body . Looks to be a good restoration prospect . $2200 Aust. Not many of these left now . Where is Robert Stafford - hey! go and save this one Robert . Mike |

			Hi mike,

this one was in just cars last month as well (along wiht that blitz you mentioned). It does look nice... but a bit too far to go! price hasnt changed since last issue. For anynoe interested theres a chevy 2x4 blitz in there, orig tyres, 26000 miles, in nsw- looks real nice, needs resto. I`d go look at it, but im after a 4x4... theres also 2 jeeps (both ford, but ones advertised as a willys) and a 1945 hudson staff car. Ian.

I dealt with this guy a year ago about this truck and walked away because of the distance and transport cost. I'm not so sure it's a gun tractor that's had a hard cab put on it, despite the half-doors. Why couldn't it have been built like that for non-GT Army use? I wouldn't think the presence of a pintle hook would be definitive for a GT either. |

Here is the message: "I know of two for sale in southern NSW and would be willing to pass on where to a collector to save these trucks. One is a C60L 13 cab motor runs quiet, no smoke, original dropside tray, winch, all rollers and near rust free the owner wants abot $3000.00. The other a F60L 12 cab I am told runs has been sandblasted and painted. steel tray a fairly tidy truck for a 12 cab the owner wants $3000.00."

			thanks guys.

Unfortunately (from a cmp perspective- not the jeeps!) i`m stuck in the middle of the gpw restoration, so there int a large amount of money lying around- keith, thanks for passing on the info from mark. The c60 is tempting considering it has a original tray, but i dont have that much! I found a ford at orange for $1000 with spares, but not running in the trading post, but stupid me... didnt write down the number and when i went to find it again it was gone! There`ll be one out there witt my name on it, i just have to find it at the right time (which will be when i have the money). Until then, i`ll keep reading and watching here, posting if i have anything valuable to say! adn attempt to build up my knowledge of all things cmp... and keep checking all the for sales. Ian.
