Default Log trailer

There were two of these outfits that Pearson's had post-war, AFS Takoradoi Harbour No. 1 and No. 2. I assume that these were acquisitions for rebuild, and used a spare CMP rear axle (with diff in both cases).

I have also these shots:

that show Leyland Beaver rigid and tractor units with what appeared to me to be some form of boat or log holding device. These were rebuilt around 1947-8 and probably sent out to the Middle East for oil field work. I assume that they are wartime contracts, but have no idea what the rear protrusions are for.
