Would it be vehicle related?

The sling is 1.5" wide and streches out to about 6.5' long.

On one end there is a brass wire loop stiched in and the other end is attached to a brass buckle. Where the strap doubles back on itself there is another brass wire loop.

The makers stamp is MS&U ltd, 194?

Very interesting. It's definitely not a Sten sling...wrong fittings and way too long. I don't think it's any kind of strap for webbing either. The fittings aren't the kind commonly seen with pattern 37 webbing: that is, the double groove type with one side open which allows attachment to braces or L straps. From your pic it's apparent the loop will go around a rather large load and then be hung from a hook. I'm going with it's some kind of cargo strap for use with a vehicle. Want to sell it?
