With the British WD census numbers,
were they a single series of numbers covering all vehicles, with the prefix letter added to indicate the vehicle class, or did each class have its own series of numbers?
Basically could two vehicles have the same number but different letter prefixes? ( say a Lorry with H and a carrier with T) Given that some had seven digit numbers I suspect it was a single series, but I've never seen it in print! Rob
