Default Where do they get these newswomen ??

I was watching CBC Newsworld for the funeral of Cpl Warren of The Black Watch and the TV reporter by the name of Kathleen Petty went on and on speaking of which she knows NOTHING.Last time I saw her was for the Normandy ceremony, and even then she knew not what she was saying. Are these type of people yapping on to occupy air time? She wouldn't shut up and the more she said the more dumb she showed herself to be.

Default Ah but...

Is she just dumb, or does she want to present a point of view (leftist, pacifist and anti-military is she's true to the CBC) and relies on the ignorance of her audience pull it off???

The latest media coverage of all things Middle East and Afganistan have been a marvel to watch. The blatant taking of sides (the terrorist one; anyone who takes another is an insensitive Bush-loving neo-con) and the lack of balance has been truly amazing. They are getting away with it because the Canadian public has been so starved of history from which to make an informed opinion, they cannot think otherwise than that love, dialogue and just being nice will solve everything.

Just for info:

I've been e-mailing back and forth with Darryl Zinck, a Warrant Officer in the RCD, currently posted to Gagetown.

I commented on a picture which Reuters had in the Toronto Sun.

A similar picture, of Warren's funeral procession, appeared in a link which Darryl sent me.

The sister of Warren, Rachael, was Darryl's Coyote gunner.

Her target aquisition prowess gave her the nick name of "Dead-Eye Dickless"...an appelation she repeated with pride.

WO Zinck has appeared in numerous MLU posts, aka Zipperhead.

Hi Jon

Mostly correct.

It's "Darrell" and I'm not posted to Gagetown but rather I'm the Reg Force Support Staff to the 8th Cdn Hussars in Moncton.

Yes, Rachelle was a good gunner and I'm very sorry for her loss. Having been Coyote Crew in Afghanistan herself, she may find this all a bit easier to take, but not by much.

Ref the reporter comments, I too have noticed a bias in the media's reporting of events. "News" is really just the "opinion" of a business that's sole reason for existence is to make money. Remember that.

The other day the wife was in a Grocery Store here that offers "points" based on your purchase amount. At the check-out, she was asked if she'd like to donate her points to the Lebanese. She laughed out loud and said she did not support Terrorists and asked why this store did. I love her!!

Wear Red on Fridays and Support our Troops

regards
Darrell
(Still a "Zipperhead" tho')

Default No kidding

I work in the biz - the utter lack of knowledge, couple with a lack of interest in matters military (never mind most other matters that matter) on the part of today's "journalists" is, at time, astonishing.
