If he had a Sten and a Bren, they would fall under the prohibited guns categories 12.1 or 12.2 The FN (described incorrectly as a machine gun) rifle could be a 12.1, a 12.2 or a 12.5 prohibited gun. If the guy was issued a weapons ban back in 2002 then he could not be liscenced for these type firearms. He would be charged for having illegal possesion of unregistered prohibited firearms, not for unsafe storage. This alone should ring alarm bells that the guns they were touting as functional in fact were not.
I would strongly suggest a fraud has been perpetrated on the public, and at an individuals expense. I would love to see this become the story, as I believe this is a bigger story than the few historic non-functional relics that this guy had in his private collection.
