Brad..The star was supposed to be an allied air identification marker put on all allied vehicles just prior to D Day..

Canadians saw this as an "Amerricun" marking and to signify their rebellious spirit cocked the star at an angle to ident Canadian warriors ,as rigorous instructions came with the placement and installing of the star which they saw as B.S.....

or so the story goes..
Canadian carrier...crooked..
American carrier...level....
