It's the correct orientation.
The big bright part is the loading tray. The big nut is part D23 on the first diagram. The two latches, one to the left and one to the right, is the parts of the rammer that engages the rim of the cartridge. You can see the edge of the RH feed roll as a bright arc above the RH latch. (On the first photo, you can clearly see the two feed rolls.)
