I do not think carriers were actually made at Chilwell, the pictures may well be of the rebuild lines at the Royal Army Ordnance Corps' Central Ordnance Depot. When REME was formed in 1942 and took responsabilty on maintenance, repairs, etc, the workshops at the Depot were named No.8 Central Workshops REME

I have a book on Chilwell, obviously not the same one though, because these pictures are not in it.
