	The concesous around here was that the CMP type D rings on the rear armour were a post war addition on conversion to a mortar carrier. Several of the local mk2s had them, including (I think) the one that went out your way a couple of weeks ago from Stead. The bracket looks like the bracket which bolts onto the right angle iron which makes up part of the engine cover. I think it was to secure the choke cable. Not sure if it was on a mk2, but was on a mk1.  |
