I took a look at the page where the photos from 2008 came from, to see if it maybe had a picture of the interior too (seeing as how many of the ports are open), as that might give a clue. Unfortunately not, but this reply there did make me laugh a little:
is dat geen Sd.Kfz.222.png He’s right: that isn’t an Sd.Kfz. 222  They both have four wheels, an engine and armour plate, those are about the only things they have in common
