Default Mcc

Another Australian Army vehicle, QLD. Date would be later than 1924 ?

Library description:

Handwriting on back of photograph reads: Our trusty steed & Cpl Emery. Sigs Camp, Fort Lytton, 15-20 Oct 24. Vehicle is a Morris-Commercial, probably a special tandem-drive version for the Army, of 2-3 ton capacity. Chasses is ex-British, body probably Australian. Condition of tyres and vehicle generally suggest manufacture 1923 or early 1924

Default Cletrac

DD241 and DD246 were both Cletrac, but different models.

Ah thanks !

I've tried to enlarge some of the pics so the reg. numbers are readable but the resolution is often poor. The middle truck pictured , is DD 54 ? I gather the unit (1st Motor Transport Company) was a 'permanent' army unit . The same vehicles appear in odd locations. Maybe some of the vehicles were loaned out to militia units for use while on weekend camps .
