Hi All - 2 Pdr experts. On the subject of Aust - GMH guns I believe between 865 and 1000 were produced, ( strangely no definitive 2Pdr Aust book has been attempted? ) In my endeavours at restoring one I've noticed what I'm guessing at, as Trail production No.s located on the drawbar, 5" from the Handspike fitting, the numbers are read from the breech. Between the chalk marks.
I'm working on '271', I have '356' spare, and a gun down south has '278', I did try and sandpaper this section on the gun at the Fremantle Museum - but was moved on. Anyone like to check theirs ? |

Far from being an expert. Found this in a NAA file. There are other files with drawings but I guess you know of them. And , there is a GM-H brochure on what appears to be a experimental GM-H built Airborne 2 pndr gun.
At the time of this war cabinet meeting, the situation in Malaya was dire, to say the least. Did these twenty-five guns ever make it to Malaya ?
