SECOND QUESTION THEN:
Being an October- kid, and the war in Africa long over, why was my truck then still delivered in Light Stone?
When restoring it, I found the color all over.
Wouldn’t it to be expected to be Light Stone or Brown rather?

2nd Q: my F15A was built JAN. 13 - 43 and has many traces of having had a Light Stone base colour. I believe that with the long supply chains which were not in real time sync with changes in demand from the theatres of operation, it happened that trucks were assembled in base colours no longer needed. Or they were delivered to other theatres in the "wrong" base colour because shipments were diverted.
Also, there are photos of trucks assembled with a cab in Light Stone and a chassis in Khaki Green. This was done to use the subassemblies at hand. After final assembly, the whole truck was given a final coat of the base colour which was required as per the contract specifications.
