Default Just shipped it out to Colorado

Hi Richard,

Strange you should send that message I just shipped my broken axle shaft out to a race car axle shop that sayes they can make a new shaft. Hold on to your hat $400 US but it will take up to 1000 horsepower. Unfortuanely they can't do the long side their machine can't take anything longer than 39 inches.

Big problem had been finding a source for the forgeings of blank axles. Did find a source for those in California but their minmum is about $1500, which would be ten axle blanks and a couple hundered more from an axle shop to machine and heattreat the shafts.

The outfit I finially found has them in stock. I believe that they will be doing this on an NC machine so when I talk to them on Monday I'll tell them to hold on to the set up.

Does anybody else need one? Price might get better on three or more I'll ask.

I will keep everybody posted.

Decided to go ahead with new shaft even though a couple of people have contact me that they may be able to help. I will get back to all of them once I know if new shafts are real.

Did yours break off right in the splines?
